The brutal hierarchy of survival in high-altitude fox kingdoms
In short: Witness the transition from cubhood to survival in a world of rock and ice. This documentary follows five foxes as they navigate a fragile ecosystem where territory is won through intelligence and resilience.
Born in high-altitude nature reserves where winter persists, fox cubs begin life in a shared landscape with chamois, groundhogs, and ibexes. However, as the seasons shift, the initial harmony of the ecosystem gives way to intense territorial rivalry.
The documentary captures the foxes' struggle against three primary threats: the predatory dive of the golden eagle, roaming wolf packs, and rival foxes challenging their clan's rule. The footage highlights a pivotal life choice: defending ancestral land or embarking on a nomadic existence across the mountains.
