The foundation of the fence line depends on stable post setting. This process involves using ready-mix concrete to secure the posts in the ground. To prevent rot and increase stability, pressure-treated 6x6 timber is often used to fortify the bottom ends of the fence posts. The installation also requires precise layout work, using wooden or metal stakes and grade strings to establish the fence's path, along with mason line to ensure straight layout lines.
The assembly of the panels themselves involves 2 1/2-inch deck screws and plastic caps to fasten the sections together. While the visible portion of the fence may consist of 6-foot privacy panels, gates often utilize 4-foot semi-private vinyl fencing. Beyond the vinyl, the toolkit for such a project is extensive, ranging from heavy machinery like an electric jackhammer for removing asphalt to precision tools like a pointed brick trowel for smoothing concrete and a level for plumbing the posts upright.
