Restoring a Victorian home to its original architectural glory
In short: Watch how a family in Belmont, Massachusetts, works to reverse years of architectural stripping. This season follows a journey to balance historical accuracy with the needs of a modern household.
The 36th season of This Old House centers on a 3,200 square foot Shingle Style house. The project aims to restore the home to its original Victorian style after a previous owner removed many of its classic architectural details.
Over 16 episodes, the homeowners will work to rebuild a grand front porch, update the kitchen, and create a mudroom. The goal is to make the residence architecturally accurate while converting two bedrooms into a master suite for a modern family.
