Returning from a year in orbit: Scott Kelly’s journey back to Earth
In short: After 340 days of weightlessness, NASA astronaut Scott Kelly has returned to Houston. This video captures his homecoming and the vital mission he completed in space.
Following a mission launched in March 2015, Scott Kelly and cosmonauts Sergey Volkov and Mikhail Kornienko landed in Kazakhstan before Kelly arrived at Ellington Field on March 3. The mission's primary goal was to collect biomedical data regarding how long-duration weightlessness affects the human body, research that is essential for planning future human missions to Mars.
