How do astronauts spend their days in orbit?
In short: Watch as NASA and Canadian Space Agency astronauts answer live questions from California students about life on the International Space Station.
On March 5, Expedition 34 Commander Kevin Ford, along with flight engineers Tom Marshburn and Chris Hadfield, participated in an educational in-flight event. They provided students from the Monrovia, Calif. Unified School District with a firsthand look at the daily operations and research conducted aboard the orbital laboratory.
The session highlighted the logistical realities of space travel, noting that Ford was scheduled to return to Earth in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft on March 14, while Marshburn and Hadfield were slated for a return in mid-May.
