Citizens' debate 2016: Pojďme do vesmíru! · 7:09 · Video: European Space Agency, ESA · Watch at the source

In short: In a world first, thousands of citizens gathered to decide what comes next for European space missions. This video provides a unique perspective on that mission by showing Earth from the International Space Station.

On September 10, 2016, approximately 2,000 people participated in the Citizens' Debate on Space for Europe. The initiative allowed the public to directly influence the future of the European Space Agency (ESA) missions through a series of connected debate sites.

The event was unique because it linked various locations via video conferencing to facilitate a large-scale democratic dialogue. To provide context for these discussions, ESA astronaut Claudie Haignere offers a tour of Earth as viewed from the International Space Station.
