How the Copernicus Programme monitors our changing planet from space
In short: This video explores the ambitious Copernicus Programme, an initiative designed to provide timely information for environmental management, climate change mitigation, and civil security through the Sentinel satellite family.
Headed by the European Commission in partnership with the European Space Agency, the programme uses the Sentinel satellite family to meet operational needs. Six primary areas comprise these services: security, emergency response, atmosphere, the marine environment, land management, and climate change.
The video highlights GeoVille, an Austrian-based organization, as a key player in delivering land applications. Their work focuses on land cover production and downstream services within the spatial planning domain.
