What it feels like to live in orbit for five months
In short: Experience a rare perspective on life in space through an in-flight interview with a departing astronaut. This conversation captures the reality of long-duration orbital life just before a return to Earth.
NASA Flight Engineer Shannon Walker sat down with astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson for a "StarTalk" radio interview while aboard the International Space Station. The discussion provided a firsthand look at Walker's life and work in orbit during Expedition 25.
The interview took place on November 22, shortly before Walker's scheduled return to Earth. After spending 5 ½ months in space, she was set to land in Kazakhstan on Thanksgiving Day alongside Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and station Commander Doug Wheelock.
