Replacing the power source of a giant in orbit
In short: Watch Mission Specialists Mike Good and Steve Bowen perform a high-stakes battery replacement on the International Space Station's P6 truss segment during STS-132.
The video captures the second spacewalk of the STS-132 mission, focusing on the technical labor required to maintain orbital infrastructure. During Flight Day 6, Good and Bowen began swapping out batteries on the P6 truss segment.
This specific task is part of a multi-day operation; while Good and Bowen started the process, Mission Specialist Garrett Reisman joined Good for the final completion on the third and last extravehicular activity (EVA) of the mission.
