The rare window to join Europe's elite space corps
In short: With recruitment opening only once every few years, the European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking its next class of astronauts. This video breaks down the specific qualifications and daily responsibilities required to join one of the world's most prestigious space programs.
The ESA recruitment process is described as highly competitive, making it a significant opportunity for eligible candidates. Because the last recruitment cycle occurred in 2008, this 2021 opening represents a rare chance for aspiring explorers to enter the program.
While the video outlines core requirements and astronaut responsibilities based on ESA's public guidelines, it notes that these are not exhaustive. Applicants are directed to the official ESA website for the complete list of criteria.
