Hubble celebrates 33 years by capturing a chaotic nursery of newborn stars

To mark its 33rd anniversary, the Hubble Space Telescope reveals a stunning look at NGC 1333. This nearby star-forming region serves as a cosmic cauldron, where hundreds of stars are currently emerging from a dense, dark cloud of gas and dust.

Located about 960 light-years away within the Perseus interstellar cloud, NGC 1333 provides a rare glimpse into the violent and messy process of stellar birth.
