A six-hour journey to the International Space Station
In short: Witness the 2013 launch of the Soyuz TMA-10M spacecraft. This footage captures the ascent from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and features interviews following the mission's start.
On September 26, 2013, the Soyuz TMA-10M rocket lifted off from Kazakhstan at 2:58 a.m. local time. A trio of astronauts comprised the flight: Sergey Ryazanskiy (Russian Flight Engineer), Michael Hopkins (NASA Flight Engineer), and Commander Oleg Kotov.
The flight to the ISS lasted approximately six hours. Upon arrival, the crew joined residents who had been aboard the station since late May, including Fyodor Yurchikhin, Karen Nyberg, and Luca Parmitano. The new arrivals were set to begin a five-and-a-half-month mission.
