A six-hour journey to the edge of orbit
In short: Watch the arrival of the next generation of explorers as three astronauts and cosmonauts successfully dock with the International Space Station. This footage captures the precise moment new crew members joined the ongoing mission in orbit.
Expedition 36/37 crew members Fyodor Yurchikhin, Karen Nyberg, and Luca Parmitano arrived at the International Space Station after launching from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. They joined a rotating crew that had been stationed on the outpost since late March.
The mission marks the beginning of a five-and-a-half-month stay for the new arrivals. Their journey involved traveling aboard the Soyuz TMA-09M spacecraft, a primary vehicle for transporting personnel to the orbital laboratory.
