Navigating the Void Without a Map or External View
In short: Watch a masterclass in orbital mechanics as a pilot attempts a mission to the moon using only cockpit instruments. By stripping away modern visual aids, this challenge highlights the raw physics and mental discipline required for true space navigation.
In this 'hardcore' run of Kerbal Space Program, the pilot navigates to the moon without the use of external views, maps, or mods. The mission relies entirely on cockpit instrumentation, a calculator, and reference tables to determine trajectories.
The video captures a single-take attempt designed to showcase the difficulty of 'flying by the seat of your pants.' To make the experience watchable, the creator utilized extra time acceleration to condense a 30-minute flight into a shorter duration.
