How a community-driven project revived abandoned rocket parts for Kerbal Space Program
In short: Scott Manley explores the evolution of the NovaPunch parts pack, a staple in the Kerbal Space Program community. Learn how disparate, discontinued projects were merged and updated to create one of the most comprehensive collections of rocket hardware available for the game.
NovaPunch originated as a collaboration between two influential rocket packs, SIDR by NovaSilisko and Wobbly Rockets by SundayPunch. Following the discontinuation of both projects, developer Tiberion took over maintenance to ensure compatibility with the evolving game engine. The 2.0 Alpha release marks a significant expansion, integrating components from CaptainSlug's Assorted Hardware pack.
This consolidation effort highlights the collaborative nature of the Kerbal Space Program modding community, where enthusiasts preserve and improve upon abandoned assets to maintain functionality for players.
