NASA's dual-rover mission continues as Perseverance begins its primary science operations on Mars.

NASA's Perseverance and Curiosity rovers are currently operating on the Martian surface. This update covers the latest progress from both missions, detailing how the newest arrival is preparing for sample collection while the veteran rover moves into new territory.

Since arriving in February 2021, the Perseverance rover has begun accelerating its scientific research. A key objective for the mission is the collection of Martian samples, which are intended to be transported back to Earth in a future endeavor.
