When heavy metal meets the high frontier of orbit
In short: Watch as members of the Canadian rock band Nickelback bridge the gap between Earth and orbit, connecting with astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
The video captures a unique cultural exchange where Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, and Ryan Peake joined forces with NASA to speak with astronauts Doug Wheelock and Scott Kelly. Beyond the conversation, the band explored the Johnson Space Center's Space Vehicle Mockup Facility.
To experience the physical demands of spaceflight, the musicians took a ride in NASA's shuttle motion-base simulator alongside veteran astronaut Steve Robinson. The collaboration occurred during a tour by the Vancouver-based group to perform two concerts in Houston.
