Returning to Earth after 186 days in orbit
In short: Following his return from the International Space Station, ESA astronaut Tim Peake addresses the media to discuss the conclusion of his Principia mission and the physical realities of long-duration spaceflight.
Held on 21 July at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany, this news conference follows Peake's landing in the Kazakhstan steppe on 18 June. The event marks the end of the Principia mission, though scientific research into his mission continues.
Following his long-duration flight, Peake became the eighth ESA astronaut to finish such a mission and the third to travel straight to the European Astronaut Centre for medical assessments. These checks allow researchers to study how the human body and mind adapt to the environment of space.
