In short: Kieffer Moore’s path to professional football was anything but linear. Before becoming a standout striker for Wales and Wrexham, he balanced his early non-league career with shifts as a lifeguard and personal trainer. His journey from the South Devon League to the Premier League highlights a rare, grit-driven career trajectory.

Born in Torquay in 1992, Moore began in the youth system of his local club before it folded when he was 12. He spent years in the lower tiers, scoring 47 goals in 43 matches for Paignton Saints. By 2012, he had moved to Truro City, where he juggled training with his day jobs. His breakthrough began in earnest after a stint at Dorchester Town, where he netted 20 goals in a single season, eventually catching the eye of Football League scouts.

Moore's career is defined by frequent moves and a remarkable ability to adapt. He has played for a diverse array of clubs, including Yeovil Town, Viking in Norway, Forest Green Rovers, and Barnsley. His time at Barnsley was particularly notable, as he was named to the PFA Team of the Year for League One in 2019. His versatility was further tested by a serious head injury in 2019 and a broken foot at Bournemouth in 2022, yet he consistently returned to form, including scoring the goal that secured Bournemouth's promotion to the Premier League.

Internationally, Moore chose to represent Wales, qualifying through his paternal grandfather from Llanrug. He made his senior debut in 2019 and became a key figure in the squad, scoring in the UEFA Euro 2020 finals and helping Wales reach the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Beyond the pitch, Moore has focused on his future, recently becoming part of the first group of graduates from the PFA Business School, receiving a qualification through the University of Portsmouth in 2025.

His recent move to Wrexham in 2025 continued his trend of impactful performances, highlighted by a perfect hat-trick against Coventry City. Moore’s career remains a testament to persistence, having navigated relegation battles, financial instability at former clubs, and significant physical setbacks to establish himself as a reliable goalscorer across multiple divisions of English football.
