In short: She is a staple of Australian airwaves, known for music quizzes and Eurovision commentary. But before she was a household name, Myf Warhurst was navigating the worlds of fine arts, street press, and even a surprising genealogical link to a music icon.

Born in 1973 in Portland, Victoria, Myf Warhurst’s path to broadcasting was shaped by both family and academic pursuits. Having spent her childhood in northwest and central Victoria, she pursued studies in fine arts and music at Melbourne University. Prior to her radio success, she held the position of editor-in-chief for the Melbourne-based street press, Inpress.

Her broadcasting career is most closely associated with the radio station Triple J. She first gained audience attention in 2000 through short segments on the Drive program. Her popularity grew by 2003, when she started presenting the daily segment The Trashy Lunchtime Quiz alongside the weekday Lunch slot. Her tenure at the station included hosting the Saturday night Net 50 request program and joining the Breakfast Show in 2007.

Warhurst’s versatility extends far beyond the radio studio. She became a recognizable television personality as a captain on the music quiz show Spicks and Specks, appearing from its 2005 inception through various runs. Her television credits also include hosting Eurovision-Australia Decides alongside Joel Creasey from 2017 to 2024, and providing the voices for Aunt Trixie and Indy's Mum in the globally popular animated series Bluey.

Beyond entertainment, her life has been documented through her 2022 memoir, Time of My Life, and a 2022 episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, which revealed a connection to the legendary Australian musician John Farnham.
