In short: Phaedra Parks is an American attorney and television personality whose career spans high-profile legal representation and reality television fame. Since founding her Atlanta-based law firm in 2000, she has balanced professional legal work with appearances on major series, navigating both public acclaim and significant controversy within the entertainment industry.

Born in Athens, Georgia, in 1971, Phaedra Parks built a foundation in law before entering the public eye. After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1997, she established The Parks Group in 2000, focusing on entertainment and intellectual property law. Her legal career gained traction through her representation of notable figures such as Bobby Brown, Jermaine Dupri, and Too Short. Her professional standing was further recognized in 2016 when Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard named her Atlanta's most popular lawyer.

Parks achieved widespread recognition following her 2010 casting in Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Her tenure on the show brought both professional opportunities and intense scrutiny. In 2017, she was fired from the series after circulating a false rumor regarding cast members Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker. Despite this departure, Parks remained a fixture in reality television, appearing on programs including Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition, The Traitors, and Married to Medicine. Her career trajectory reflects a complex blend of legal expertise and the volatile nature of unscripted television fame.

Beyond her television work, Parks has authored a book and served as a legal analyst for networks such as NBC and CNN. Her personal life, including her marriage to Apollo Nida—who was convicted of fraud—has often intersected with her public persona. Despite her own involvement in reality programs, Parks has expressed that she does not consider these shows appropriate for children. As of 2024, she has returned to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, marking a significant comeback after a six-season hiatus, while continuing to participate in other high-profile media projects like Dancing with the Stars.
