The sixteenth installment of the New York City reality franchise debuts with significant changes
In short: Following a period of cast turnover and production uncertainty, the sixteenth season of the long-running reality series arrived on Bravo in September 2026. With a mix of returning favorites and fresh faces, the show attempts to navigate the high expectations of its audience while redefining its core group dynamics.
The production landscape for this season underwent substantial shifts throughout 2025 and 2026. Following the fifteenth season, several departures reshaped the ensemble, including the exits of Rebecca Minkoff, Brynn Whitfield, and Jenna Lyons. By March 2026, the network confirmed that Sai de Silva, Erin Lichy, and Jessel Taank would anchor the returning cast. They were joined by newcomers Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye, while Carole Radziwill made a notable return to the series as a full-time regular.
The development process was marked by intense speculation regarding the show's direction. In August 2025, reports surfaced that producers were exploring a potential cast overhaul, considering figures like Paige DeSorbo and Lindsay Hubbard. By November 2025, Andy Cohen signaled that official announcements were imminent. Filming for the season officially commenced during the week of March 2, 2026, under the guidance of executive producers including Lisa Shannon, Lori Gordon, and Cohen himself.
Critical reception following the September 8, 2026, premiere has been largely positive. Industry observers, including writers from Vulture and Entertainment Weekly, have praised the debut for its energy and dramatic potential, with some noting that it successfully addressed the backlash associated with earlier iterations. The New York Times highlighted the program as a notable viewing choice for the week of September 7, 2026, suggesting that the rebooted format has managed to capture the attention of both critics and the viewing public.
