In short: In Enterprise, Nevada, a nondescript warehouse once used by a slot machine manufacturer has transformed into the Meta Apex. Owned by TKO Group Holdings, this facility serves as the primary production hub for the UFC, WWE, and Power Slap, fundamentally altering how combat sports are broadcast and experienced globally.

The origin of the Meta Apex traces back to 2017, when Ari Emanuel sought to expand the UFC's footprint near its existing headquarters. After purchasing the former Scientific Games warehouse in October 2018 for $40 million, the organization invested an additional $30 million to retrofit the space for high-end media production. The facility officially opened its doors on June 18, 2019, positioning itself as a central node for live events and studio programming.

The venue gained unexpected prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Following a brief series of events in Jacksonville, the Apex became the exclusive home for all U.S.-based UFC cards, operating behind closed doors. This period of isolation allowed the UFC to refine its production model within a controlled environment. A defining feature of this space is its 25-foot wide Octagon, which is smaller than the standard 30-foot version used in larger arenas. Early data and fan analysis suggested that this tighter cage encouraged a faster pace, higher striking volume, and a greater frequency of fight finishes.

As the facility evolved, so did its ambitions. In January 2022, reports indicated plans to expand seating to 1,000 spectators and introduce amenities like food and alcohol service, ticket sales, and a souvenir shop. By January 2026, the venue entered a five-year naming rights partnership with Meta, officially becoming the Meta Apex. The site continues to host Dana White's Contender Series and select Fight Night events, with a major revamp completed by August 8, 2026, to accommodate increased seating capacity. Today, the Apex stands as a testament to the UFC's strategy of vertical integration, housing everything from submission grappling projects to professional wrestling under one roof.
