The American television series Sed de venganza, which premiered on Telemundo on 15 October 2024 and concluded on 6 March 2025, draws its narrative foundation from the 2007 Colombian production Pura sangre. The original story was developed by the writing team of Mauricio Navas, Conchita Ruiz, and Tania Cardenas. The series centers on Fernanda Rios, portrayed by Isabella Castillo, who operates under the influence of her mentor and romantic partner, Eugenio Beltran. Her life is defined by a singular, long-term objective: to systematically weaken the Del Pino family and seize control of their corporate assets.
The plot pivots when Francisco Ramirez, played by Danilo Carrera, re-emerges after a decade. Having been betrayed by Fernanda in their shared past, he adopts the alias Emilio Montenegro to execute his own retribution. The tension escalates as Fernanda remains oblivious to his true identity, leading to a volatile dynamic where their mutual desire for vengeance is suddenly challenged by a burgeoning, unplanned passion. This emotional entanglement threatens to unravel the carefully constructed schemes both characters have spent years refining.
Production for the series moved quickly following its initial announcement by Telemundo on 2 May 2024. With the lead actors confirmed, a teaser trailer was released just one week later, and principal photography commenced on 3 June 2024. Since its broadcast run, the show has expanded its reach through international streaming platforms. It debuted on Disney+ in Latin America on 19 March 2025, featuring a Brazilian Portuguese dub for the region. By 20 October 2025, the series began airing on Telemundo Africa, and on 21 January 2026, it became available on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom, with English dubbing provided for both the African and British markets.
