This commitment to her silhouette eventually led to technical compromises: her miniskirt was clarified as a 'skort' to prevent exposure during combat, and later iterations in the Remake series utilized specific padding on real-life models to ensure her proportions remained accurate to the original vision.
Beyond aesthetics, Tifa serves as an emotional anchor. Her backstory reveals a deep history with protagonist Cloud Strife, involving a childhood accident where she fell into a coma—an event that shaped their mutual feelings and Cloud's subsequent path of self-improvement. By positioning her as both a 'motherly sweetheart' and a formidable martial artist in AVALANCHE, the developers created a multi-dimensional character who balances physical power with emotional sensitivity, ensuring she remained relevant across decades of sequels and cinematic expansions.
