In short: Beyond the familiar sky blue, the 2014–15 campaign saw Manchester City embrace bold new aesthetics. From fading navy patterns to luminous purple third kits, the club's visual identity underwent a striking transformation while competing across Europe's most prestigious stages.

The 2014–15 season marked Manchester City's 113th year of existence and their 18th season in the Premier League. As part of a long-term partnership with Nike that was set to run until 2019, the club introduced several distinct kit designs that departed from traditional aesthetics. The home kit retained its iconic sky blue base but featured thick navy blue bands on the neck and arms, paired with sky blue shorts instead of the club's traditional white variety.

The away and third kits offered even more experimentation. The away strip utilized a fading pattern that transitioned from navy blue to mid-blue, accented with yellow. The third kit adopted a more modern, multi-tonal approach, using two shades of purple separated by luminous yellow flashes, following a template used by Nike for its top-tier global teams.

The goalkeeper's wardrobe was particularly varied, featuring three distinct sets. These included a primary yellow kit with a light green band and white gradient, a secondary green kit with a yellow band, and a third black kit accented with red bands. Each of these designs incorporated a similar fading gradient pattern.

While the visual identity was changing, the club's competitive scope remained vast. During this campaign, Manchester City participated in the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Community Shield, and the UEFA Champions League, maintaining their presence in both domestic and continental football.
