The 2025 season marked a significant turning point for the franchise, serving as the final year under head coach Brian Daboll and the ownership tandem of John Mara and Steve Tisch. After finishing 2024 with a 3–14 record, the team entered the year with high expectations but struggled with consistency. The season was characterized by a 'blown lead' narrative; of the Giants' 13 losses, seven were decided by a single possession, and in five others, they surrendered double-digit leads. These struggles contributed to an 8th losing record in a nine-season span and extended an NFC East title drought to 14 seasons. The roster underwent major transitions, most notably the release of Daniel Jones and the debut of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. The season ultimately concluded with the firing of Daboll following a Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears, leaving offensive coordinator Mike Kafka to serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the year.
