From a toddler on stage to a national Eurovision representative
In short: Carlotta Truman's career began before she could even speak clearly. By age nine, she was already a national finalist on a major talent show, setting the stage for a decade of high-profile performances that would eventually lead her to the international stage of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Carlotta Truman's trajectory in the German music industry is defined by early professionalization. She made her first public appearance at just one and a half years old, a precocious start that transitioned into a formal career by her childhood. At age nine, she became a finalist on the German version of Got Talent, known as Das Supertalent. This early success launched a series of high-profile engagements, including a national television appearance on Our Show For Germany and a tour across the country.
Her technical versatility allowed her to bridge the gap between classical and popular music. The Hanover federal Police Orchestra employed Truman as a frequent soloist, which culminated in a concert for the German President at the Villa Hammerschmidt in Bonn. Her accolades grew rapidly; in December 2011, she was named the youngest recipient of the 29th German Rock and Pop prize for Best Singer in Germany, winning four other awards at the same ceremony.
The 2010s saw Truman navigate both competitive reality television and international collaboration. After placing second in The Voice Kids in 2014, she formed the duo Sisters with Laurita Spinelli. They won the national selection Unser Lied für Israel to represent Germany in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Sister," where they finished 25th with 24 points. Following the duo's disbandment in February 2020, Truman shifted toward electronic pop, debuting the single "Lyar" in October 2021 as part of the duo Amos Fleur with producer Simon Leander.
