From pop group hopeful to soap opera star: the rise of Charlotte Jordan
In short: Before becoming a household name in British television, Charlotte Jordan navigated the complexities of the music industry. After a stint in a pop group that never released a single, she pivoted to acting, eventually securing a defining role in one of the UK's most iconic soap operas.
Born on 1 June 1994 in Chobham, Surrey, Charlotte Jordan Evans began her journey through the performing arts long before her television breakthrough. A trained dancer who had been practicing for over five years by 2008, she placed second in the Fonteyn Nureyev Young Dancer competition. Her early professional steps included a role in the series The Bill in 2007, credited as Charlie Evans, and a part in Nickelodeon's Summer in Transylvania between 2011 and 2012.
A significant turning point occurred in 2012 when she was selected to join a pop group organized by Geri Halliwell. Despite spending more than two years with the ensemble—which cycled through various names before being dubbed "The Band" by management—the group never released a single record. This experience proved to be a steep learning curve, ultimately leading Jordan to realize that her true passion lay in acting rather than music.
Under the name Charlotte Jordan, she achieved significant success, most notably joining the ITV soap Coronation Street in 2020. Joining during the show's 60th anniversary amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, she played Daisy Midgeley for approximately four and a half years. Her performance earned her high-profile recognition, including a British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance and a 2023 RTS North West Award for her work in the continuing drama. After departing the soap in May 2025, she transitioned into radio on The Archers and joined the cast of the BBC's The Hairdresser Mysteries in 2026.
