In short: Born in Hackney, Kevin Lisbie carved out a resilient professional football career spanning over two decades. From his standout hat-trick against Liverpool to navigating recurring injuries and multiple club transfers, Lisbie remained a persistent presence on the pitch, eventually transitioning from a prolific striker into a dedicated football manager.

Kevin Lisbie, born on 17 October 1978, began his professional journey with Charlton Athletic during the 1996–97 season. His time at Charlton was marked by both high points and physical setbacks. Perhaps his most memorable performance occurred in September 2003, when he scored a hat-trick in a 3–2 victory over Liverpool. However, his progress was interrupted in 2005 by a benign tumour in his nose, which required treatment over the summer. Throughout his career, Lisbie faced a series of injuries, including a shoulder issue in 2006 that sidelined him for three months, and further fitness challenges during his later years at Barnet and Leyton Orient.

Following his departure from Charlton in 2007, Lisbie found success at Colchester United, where he finished as the club's top scorer with 17 goals during the 2007–08 season. His form attracted interest from Ipswich Town, who signed him for £600,000 in July 2008. Despite the move, he struggled to maintain a consistent first-team spot and eventually returned to Colchester on loan, where he again proved his value by scoring 13 goals. His later career saw him become a pivotal figure at Leyton Orient, where he was named player of the season for 2012–13 and earned the League One Player of the Month award in November 2012.

Beyond his club career, Lisbie earned ten international caps for Jamaica between 2002 and 2004, scoring twice in friendlies against Australia and El Salvador. His connection to the sport has extended to his family; his sons Kyrell, Kyreece, and Kaion have all pursued football. After retiring from professional play following the 2019 FA Vase Final with Cray Valley Paper Mills, Lisbie transitioned into management. Today, he continues to influence the game from the sidelines, currently serving as the manager at Cray Valley Paper Mills, ensuring his long-standing relationship with the sport persists into a new chapter.
