From teen television star to managing her own empire
In short: Maja Salvador began her career at just 14 years old. Since then, she has transformed from a supporting actress in horror films into a platinum-selling recording artist and a powerful talent manager, proving that longevity in the entertainment industry requires much more than just a single breakout role.
Born in Manila on October 5, 1988, Maja Salvador's journey into the spotlight began in 2003 with a minor role in the series It Might Be You. While she initially gained recognition for her work in teen-oriented shows like Nginiig and Spirits, her early career was defined by a transition from supporting roles to leading lady status. A pivotal moment arrived in 2006 with the horror film Sukob, which earned her several awards, including Best Supporting Actress.
As her career progressed, Salvador became a staple of Philippine primetime television, often portraying intense, vengeful, or strong-willed characters. Her roles in series such as Ina, Kapatid, Anak and the highly popular Wildflower showcased her ability to command high ratings, with the latter peaking at 35.2%. Beyond television, she achieved critical acclaim in independent cinema, notably winning Best Actress at the Gawad Urian and Luna Awards for her performance in the 2011 film Thelma.
Salvador's professional expansion extends far beyond acting. In 2014 and 2015, she released two studio albums, Believe and Maja in Love, both of which achieved Platinum certification from PARI. Her influence also reached the cultural sector in 2019 when she was named the first dance ambassador by the National Commission for Se Culture and the Arts. In 2021, demonstrating her entrepreneurial drive, she departed from her long-term management at Star Magic to establish her own company, Crown Artist Management, which now represents notable artists like John Lloyd Cruz.
Today, her career remains multifaceted, spanning hosting duties on programs like Eat Bulaga! and starring in major productions like The Iron Heart and the upcoming 2026 series Someone, Someday.
