In short: Nazi Germany's New Order was a sprawling, brutal geopolitical blueprint for a German-dominated world. Beyond the Holocaust, it envisioned a racial hierarchy, the enslavement of entire populations, and the systematic dismantling of sovereign nations to secure Lebensraum. It was a vision of total control, built on pseudo-science and imperial ambition.

The New Order, or Neuordnung, was the Nazi vision for a reorganized Europe and, ultimately, a German-led global order. Proclaimed by Adolf Hitler in 1941, the plan was rooted in the concept of Nordicism, which posited that a master race of Aryan-Nordic peoples was entitled to global supremacy. This ideology demanded the creation of Lebensraum, or living space, through the colonization of Central and Eastern Europe. The project necessitated the systematic extermination or enslavement of those deemed inferior, including Slavic peoples, Romani, and the Jewish population, whose destruction was central to the Nazi agenda.

Geopolitically, the Nazis sought to integrate Europe under German economic and military control while excluding the Soviet Union, which they characterized as a 'Judeo-Bolshevist' threat. Plans for Western Europe were equally transformative. In France, Hitler aimed to establish a vassal state, annexing territories like Alsace-Lorraine and potentially creating a 'Burgundian Free State' governed by the SS. Similarly, the Low Countries were viewed as racially assimilable but destined for total annexation into the Reich, with their populations expected to provide settlers for the eastern colonies.

The scope of these ambitions extended to the United Kingdom and the Iberian Peninsula. Hitler initially hoped to preserve the British Empire as a seafaring partner, but occupation plans included stripping the UK of its industrial assets and enslaving its population. In Spain, Hitler played a cynical game, making vague promises of colonial expansion to Francisco Franco while secretly planning to turn Spain into a dependent client state. Throughout these regions, the Nazis utilized local fascist movements and separatist groups to destabilize existing governments, always ensuring that any 'independence' granted was merely a facade for German dominance.

Historians continue to debate whether the New Order was strictly a continental project or a roadmap for a Germanocentric world government. Regardless, the strategy was underpinned by a ruthless pragmatism. From the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact to the exploitation of collaborators in occupied territories, every diplomatic maneuver was designed to secure Germany's flanks and prepare for the ultimate consolidation of power. The failure of these plans in the face of Allied resistance does not diminish the scale of the intended reorganization, which sought to permanently replace the existing international order with a hierarchy defined by racial and imperial violence.
