The unstoppable scoring force behind a perfect college season
In short: In 2013, Baylor University achieved something unprecedented: a perfect 40–0 record. At the heart of that historic run was Odyssey Sims, a player whose statistical dominance and professional journey through the WNBA and Athletes Unlimited have redefined excellence in women's basketball.
Odyssey Sims's ascent began at Baylor University, where her sophomore season became the stuff of legend. Alongside teammate Brittney Griner, Sims helped lead the Bears to an NCAA Championship, defeating Notre Dame 80–69. This victory capped a flawless 40–0 season, the first time any team in college basketball history had completed a season without a single loss.
Her individual brilliance was equally historic. During her junior year, Sims dominated the Big 12 conference, ranking first in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7) and fifth in free throw percentage (.832). By her senior year, she reached a scoring peak, averaging 28.5 points per game and once dropping a career-high 48 points in a single game against West Virginia.
Sims transitioned to the professional ranks as the second overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft for the Tulsa Shock. Her professional career has been marked by both immense scoring feats—such as a 39-point game against the San Antonio Stars—and periods of significant transition, including trades to the Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx, and stints in international leagues in South Korea and Turkey.
Beyond the WNBA, Sims has become a cornerstone of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball. No other athlete has exceeded 10,000 win points and 20,000 leaderboard points, as she maintains every league record for MVP, stat, win, and career leaderboard totals. Her career continues to evolve, marked by a 2026 championship in the AU Pro Basketball sixth season.
