From Brazilian youth prospect to a global footballing nomad
In short: Few players navigate the world's most diverse leagues with such clinical efficiency. From the heights of the Champions League with Benfica to the rising intensity of the Saudi Pro League, Anderson Talisca has built a career defined by prolific scoring and a relentless journey across continents.
Born on 1 February 1994, Anderson Talisca emerged from the Bahia youth academy, making his professional debut in July 2013. His ascent was rapid; by July 2014, he secured a €4.75 million move to Benfica, the most expensive transfer for a Bahia player at that time. His arrival in Portugal was explosive, as he quickly became the Primeira Liga's leading scorer during the 2014 season, netting eight goals in the league by late October.
Talisca's impact extended to Europe's most prestigious stage, the UEFA Champions League, where he famously scored a decisive goal against Monaco in November 2014. His career has since been characterized by significant moves across the globe. He spent a productive period on loan at Beşiktaş in Turkey, followed by a high-profile permanent transfer to the Chinese Super League's Guangzhou Evergrande for €19.2 million in 2018. This period included a remarkable debut where he netted a hat-trick.
In recent years, Talisca has become a central figure in the expansion of the Saudi Pro League. Joining Al-Nassr in May 2021 for $9.5 million, he achieved historic milestones, including being the first player to record a hat-trick for the club in the AFC Champions League. His journey continued to Turkey with Fenerbahçe, where he has maintained his scoring prowess in the Süper Lig, proving that his ability to find the net remains a constant, regardless of the geography.
