Entering the NFL, Lawrence faced immense pressure as the number one overall pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 draft. His rookie season was marked by struggle, including 17 interceptions and a low completion rate. However, he showed resilience under coach Doug Pederson, leading the team to an AFC South division title and a playoff berth in 2022. By 2025, he achieved a career-high 4,007 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the Jaguars to another division title.
Despite the highs and lows, Lawrence's market value remains immense. Following a period of injury and regression in 2023, the Jaguars secured his future with a massive five-year, $275 million contract extension, cementing his status as one of the highest-paid players in professional football.
