Two street artists commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall with original segments
In short: To mark the 30th anniversary of the Berlin Wall's collapse, artists Thierry Noir and STIK collaborated on a new installation. They painted directly onto two authentic sections of the wall, which were recovered from Berlin specifically for this project.
Thierry Noir is recognized as a pioneering artist who famously painted on the Berlin Wall during the 1980s. For this commemorative project, he teamed up with fellow street artist STIK to create a new work that bridges the history of the wall with contemporary art.
The installation features two original segments of the wall, providing a tangible connection to the events of November 1989. By working directly on these recovered pieces, the artists offer a reflective look at the legacy of the barrier that once divided the city.
