How augmented reality can animate the world through your smartphone
In short: Explore how tools like Aurasma allow users to seamlessly overlay digital animations onto physical objects, transforming everything from static paintings into talking figures to printed newspapers featuring live news updates.
This video explores the capabilities of Aurasma, an augmented reality tool demonstrated by Matt Mills and Tamara Roukaerts. Unlike earlier iterations of the technology, this tool enables the seamless animation of the world as viewed through a smartphone lens. By recognizing specific images, the technology can trigger diverse digital overlays, such as making a painting appear to speak or superimposing real-time news onto a physical newspaper.
