A temporary city suspended above the Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Installation of Tomás Saraceno on the Roof: Cloud City · 6:04 · Video: The Met · Watch at the source

In short: Experience the architectural ambition of Tomás Saraceno's Cloud City. This card explores the context of the installation that transformed the Met's roof into a site of suspended, imaginative urbanism.

From May 15 to November 4, 2012, the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted 'Tomás Saraceno on the Roof: Cloud City.' Organized by Anne Strauss of the Modern and Contemporary Art department, the work was a major installation situated in the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden.

The project was made possible through a collaboration involving Bloomberg, the Daniel and Estrellita Brodsky Foundation, the William S. Lieberman Fund, and Eugenio Lopez. The work itself was lent by Christian Keesee, marking a significant moment of public art engagement in New York City.
