In short: For forty years, researcher Lynn Rogers has lived among the black bears of the American Northwoods. This footage captures the intimate bond formed through decades of study and the complex reality of wildlife conservation.

Lynn Rogers began his research four decades ago, developing a unique proximity to black bears that has revealed unprecedented insights into their individual characters and habits. His primary goal is to demonstrate that these animals can live alongside humans peacefully.

The footage provides a rare look at this long-term relationship, including intimate moments with a bear and her newborn cubs. However, it also highlights a tragic tension in conservation: the difficulty of protecting specific research subjects from hunting despite requests from the scientific community.
