The desperate race to save 9,000-year-old organic relics from rot
In short: When ancient artifacts emerge from subarctic ice, they face a ticking clock. This documentary explores the fragile survival of prehistoric technology as it encounters oxygen for the first time in millennia.
The film follows the struggle to preserve organic materials, such as a 9,000-year-old wooden dart shaft, which remains bound with sinew and delicate bird feathers. Once released from the ice, these relics are at extreme risk of being destroyed by rot and oxygen within just a few days.
