How artificial prey helps orphaned wildlife reclaim their independence
In short: Watch how conservationists use simulated hunting techniques to bridge the gap between human care and wild survival for orphaned animals.
Filmed in Africa and Costa Rica, this footage explores the rehabilitation of 'nature's miracle orphans.' The series documents the specific methods used by people to transition rescued animals back into a life in the wild.
A key component of this process involves teaching animals to hunt using fake prey. By providing these simulated challenges, handlers ensure that orphaned wildlife can develop the necessary skills for self-sufficiency before being released.
