How Disney Imagineers brought the animated world of Ratatouille to life at Epcot
In short: Go behind the scenes with Disney Imagineers and Pixar artists as they expand the France pavilion at Epcot. This episode documents the collaborative process of transforming sketches into an immersive, rat-filled Parisian kitchen experience inspired by the film Ratatouille.
The project required a close partnership between Disney Imagineers and the original animators and artists from Pixar. The team worked to translate the specific aesthetic of the film into a physical environment, ensuring the final installation successfully transports guests into the fantastical world of the character Remy.
The design process spanned from initial conceptual sketches to the final physical installation within the park. This collaboration highlights the technical and creative effort involved in blending animated storytelling with real-world theme park architecture.
