Galapagos sea lions use unique hunting techniques in a secret cove
In short: Witness a rare glimpse into the Galapagos, where a team of sea lions employs hunting methods believed to be unique to the islands. This footage, filmed for the first time, reveals the sophisticated social coordination required for survival in these isolated ecosystems.
This footage, part of the 2021 series Eden: Untamed Planet, captures unprecedented behavior from sea lions. These animals operate within highly specialized, species-rich ecosystems that have remained largely unchanged due to their isolation from human interference. By observing these coordinated hunting efforts, we gain insight into how life flourishes in the world's last remaining Edens, even as human presence begins to encroach upon these fragile landscapes.
