How Tibetan traditions foster coexistence with the elusive snow leopard
In short: Witness a rare encounter with a mother snow leopard and her cub in the Himalayas. This film explores how Buddhist beliefs and ancient rituals help Tibetan herdsmen coexist with predators that threaten their livestock.
The documentary follows an expedition into the high Himalayas to observe the 'ghosts of the moving mountains.' It examines the spiritual connection between Tibetan herdsmen and the snow leopard, noting that while these predators kill several yaks annually, the local Buddhist worldview promotes respect for all life and the cycle of rebirth. Through sacred stones and prayer wheels, the film captures a shared spiritual continuum between humans and wildlife, offering a glimpse into the recovery of this species.
