The towering giants and flightless wonders we lost forever
In short: From birds weighing over 1,000 pounds to flightless giants standing 13 feet tall, some of Earth's most extraordinary avian species are gone. This documentary explores their history and the human impact that led to their disappearance.
The film examines the lives of massive extinct birds, highlighting how hunting, exploitation, and human expansion have caused irreversible damage to the natural world. By looking at these lost species, the documentary illustrates the extreme vulnerability of wildlife in a rapidly changing environment.
Beyond just mourning the past, the narrative uses these stories to reflect on humanity's relationship with nature. It asks what these extinctions can teach us about the urgent need to protect the species that still remain today.
