Why the world's most feared predators play in the dark
In short: While humans often view the night as a source of fear, it serves as a playground for the world's most formidable predators. This footage captures a wild puma engaging in kitten-like play, revealing a side of these apex hunters rarely seen by the human eye.
The series 'The Dark: Nature’s Nighttime World' follows wildlife experts into the jungles and swamps of South America to document nocturnal behaviors. Because most animals are active at night, they are seldom studied or filmed, leaving many of nature's mysteries unobserved.
By braving these environments, the team captures rare footage of pumas and other creatures in their natural nighttime habitats. The goal is to provide a new perspective on the wild planet by highlighting behaviors that occur only when the sun goes down.
