A single vet's intervention could save an entire gorilla troop
In short: When one of Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka's favorite gorillas fell desperately ill, the stakes were higher than a single life. This video explores her high-stakes medical intervention in Bwindi’s Impenetrable National Park.
The footage captures the critical moment Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, a young veterinarian, attempted to treat Kahara, a gorilla who had become dangerously ill. Because gorillas are social animals, the health of one individual can impact the entire silverback troop's survival.
Set in Bwindi’s Impenetrable National Park, the narrative highlights the delicate balance between human intervention and wildlife conservation.
