In short: Yulee, Florida, has evolved from a quiet residential hub into a strategic focal point for regional expansion. Named after a pioneering railroad builder, this census-designated place now blends suburban living with large-scale corporate headquarters, world-class golf courses, and significant educational infrastructure, all while maintaining its unique coastal subtropical character.

Located in Nassau County, Yulee serves as a residential base for commuters traveling to Jacksonville and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Since the 2010 census, the population has grown from 11,491 to 14,195 by 2020. This growth is supported by a diverse infrastructure, including the Robert M. Foster Justice Center, which opened in 2004, and the Betty P. Cook Nassau Center, a campus of the Florida State College at Jacksonville.

The community's economic landscape is shifting through major development initiatives. In 2017, Rayonier established its corporate headquarters in the area and began developing Wildlight, a massive 24,000-acre project designed to integrate residential, commercial, and educational spaces. This project included the $26 million Wildlight Elementary School, which opened for the 2017–2018 academic year. Further corporate interest followed, with Florida Public Utilities announcing plans in 2018 to relocate its headquarters to a new 55,000-sq-ft facility in Yulee.

Despite this rapid development, the area retains a focus on recreation and history. Yulee hosts two 18-hole, par 72 golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio. Nature and history enthusiasts can visit the John Muir Ecological Park, which commemorates the naturalist's 1867 journey across Florida, or utilize the Goffinsville Nassau River Park. The region's humid subtropical climate, characterized by mild winters, continues to draw residents and visitors alike, supported by the Florida Welcome Center near the state line.
