The competition featured a rigorous qualification process that narrowed the initial field of 27 entrants down to 16 teams, including a debut appearance by the Central African Republic.
Beyond the title, the tournament functioned as a critical qualifier for international stages. By winning the final, Tunisia secured a spot in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
