In short: Engineered in South Africa, the Marauder is a versatile armored vehicle capable of carrying ten personnel. Known for its double-walled hull that shields occupants from high-level ballistic threats, this platform has been adopted by various nations and adapted for roles ranging from medical support to heavy weapons deployment.

Launched at the 2007 International Defence Exhibition & Conference in Abu Dhabi, the Marauder was developed by the Paramount Group to excel in confined or built-up environments. It is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Matador, yet maintains a robust configuration available in 4x4 or 6x6 formats. The vehicle is built for endurance, boasting a maximum range of 700 kilometres and a cruising speed between 100 and 120 km/h.

The vehicle's primary defensive feature is a double monocoque hull, which offers significant protection against incoming projectiles, meeting the STANAG 4569 Level III standard for its crew compartment. Beyond its defensive capabilities, the Marauder is highly modular. Its payload platform can support a wide array of equipment, including missile launchers, cannons, and machine guns, or even serve as a mobile base for firing mortars. This adaptability has made it a popular choice for international military forces.

Global production of the Marauder is widespread, often involving local partnerships to facilitate manufacturing. Jordan was the first customer and established local production in 2008 through the King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau. Similar joint ventures exist in Azerbaijan and Singapore, where the vehicle is known as the Belrex. In Kazakhstan, the vehicle is produced under the name Arlan, a winterized variant that entered service in 2017. While most production is official, the vehicle's design has also inspired unauthorized copies, such as the Taurus built in Lithuania.
